Profile:

Mgr. Matej Martinkovič, PhD. has been working at the Department of Translation Studies of the Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra as a researcher and lecturer since 2019. In his scientific and pedagogical activities, he focuses mainly on topics related to literary translation, editing of literary translations and Anglophone literature. He also regularly publishes on these topics in international publications and presents papers at international conferences. His teaching activities also include British history and computer technologies for students of translation studies.

He is the principal investigator of the project UGA III/7/2023 Editing Practice in Slovakia as a Part of Transfer Process, and is a member of the research team of the project VEGA -> 2/0092/23 Translation and Translating in the History and Present of the Slovak Cultural Space. Transformations of Forms, Status and Functions: Texts, Personalities, Institutions. In the past, he also participated in the international project Mental HEALTH 4 ALL: Development and Implementation of a Digital Platform for the Promotion of Access to Mental Healthcare for Low Language Proficient Third-country Nationals in Europe.

He also brings into his scientific and pedagogical activities knowledge from practice as a long-term practising translator and technical writer, and as an editor of translations of accompanying texts, he is also involved in the preparation of the One World Film Festival.
