The Department of Translation Studies organised on 4 October 2023 an event titled Translator Movie Night, aiming to highlight various approaches to audiovisual translation and to discuss these with our students. We chose the Slovak film Invalid for our first night, as it provides ample examples for the translation of dialect, curse words and slang. We are positive this was not the last time such an event took place.
