Assoc. Prof. Edita Hornáčková Klapicová, PhD. has worked in the area of theoretical and applied lexicography since 2000. Her present research and publishing activities focus primarily on the translation of specialized terms and the questions of natural translation and code-switchin in bilingual children. She is the author of several monographs (Bilingualism in Children: Language Differentiation and the Acquisition of Meaning, Madrid, 2018, Historical and Comparative Aspects of the English and Spanish Religious Vocabulary, Trnava, 2015, Bilingual Lexicography and a Slovak-Spanish-English Theological Dictionary, 2012, Lexikografia, preklad a teologický slovník, Bratislava, 2010) and co-author of various dictionaries (Stručný slovensko-anglický teologický slovník, Bratislava, 2017, Anglicko-slovenský a slovensko-anglický slovník v dvoch zväzkoch, Praha, 2014, Slovensko - anglicko - španielsko - taliansky obrázkový slovník, Trnava, 2014, Diccionario abreviado del Cristianismo, Madrid, 2011). She is the director of a number of lexicographical projects carried out in cooperation with other European and US universities. As a member of the team of experts, she cooperates with the European Center for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe in translating and interpreting activities. She innitiated the establishment of  Slovak as the Foreign Language Educational Programme at the University of Bologna in Italy in 2005.
