Profile:

Prof. Müglová is one of the founders of Translation Studies study programmes in Slovakia. Her research primarily focuses on theoretical, methodological and didactic aspects of interpreting. Her current research project centres on teaching interpreting for asylum seekers and she is the co-investigator for two projects on this subject: Project no. 101038491 Mental HEALTH 4 ALL: Development and implementation of a digital platform for the promotion of access to mental healthcare for low language proficient third-country nationals in Europe/MHEALTH4ALL, and KEGA 010UKF-4/2022 Návrh kolaboratívneho vzdelávania v oblasti PSI na Slovensku: dizajn, implementácia a evaluácia kurzov zameraných na tréning tlmočníkov vo verejnej službe [Suggestions for Collaborative Education in Slovak Public Service Interpreting: Designing, Implementing and Evaluating Courses Focusing on the Training of Interpreters in Public Service].

Alongside a number of articles published in Slovak and international journals and collected volumes, she is the author and co-author of 12 monographs and a nation-wide textbook for students of Translation Studies titled Komunikácia Tlmočenie Preklad alebo Prečo spadla babylonská veža? [Communication, Interpreting, Translation, or Why Did the Tower of Babel Collapse?]. She successfully supervised eight PhD students in the field of Translation Studies. She is a member of exam committees for magisterial, doctoral, habilitation and inaugural proceedings in her home institution (KTR FF UKF), subject committees for Didactics of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Comenius University in Bratislava, subject committees at the Institute of Translation Studies at Charles University in Prague (until 2019) and a member of The University Grant Agency for Literary Sciences, Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting for UKF in Nitra. She is a member of exam boards for the certification of court interpreters at UKF's Institute of Interpreting.
