Mgr. Lenka Michelčíková, PhD.  is a graduate of master's studies in the study programme of English language and literature - French language and literature at the Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. In 2011, she was awarded a PhD in Translation Studies. She has been working as a university teacher since 2006 and she is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Translation Studies.

During her teaching practice, she participated in scientific research and lecture mobilities in Strasbourg (Institut de Traducteurs, d'Interpretes et de Relations Internationales, Université Marc Bloc); in Paris, (Centre international d'études pédagogiques); in Lviv (Ivan Frank University); in Cologne (Universität zu Köln, Philosophische Fakultät, Slavisches Institut) and in St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg State University). In her scientific and research work, she is primarily devoted to linguistics, specifically morphological and lexical analysis of the text with regard to interlanguage translation in the English-French-Slovak language correlation. Her profile disciplines include lexicology, phraseology and translation.

She participated, as a co-researcher, in the successful projects of the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Slovak Republic (Creation and implementation of innovative English and Russian language teaching modules for journalists; New concept of the additive module of foreign language education: Historical and cultural minimum for non-philologists), the project of the Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science , research and sports of the Slovak Republic for structural funds (Creation of the study programe: interdisciplinary study mass media studies - French language with the use of ICT) and the project of Internationalization Support at UKF in Nitra, which operates in the field of improving and supporting the language and cultural needs of foreign students.

She is an author of a scientific monograph entitled The Language of Legislative Texts of the EU Institutions, several university textbooks, scripts and teaching texts, and a translation of a book. Her translation practice includes translations of professional texts, project documentation and audiovisual works.
