The upcoming conference Translation Studies in Ukraine as an Integral Part of European Context will take place in Bratislava on 12-15 May 2022. The organizer's goal is to help disseminate the results of research into translation done in Ukraine and by doing so support their deep conviction that Ukraine shares European values and is – and has always been – an integral part of Europe.

The conference will see presentations by significant translation studies scholars from Ukraine and elsewhere, such as Oleksandr Kalnychenko, Lada Kolomiyets, Leonid Chernovaty, Viacheslav Karaban, Maksym.V.Strikha, Susan Bassnett, Andrew Chesterman, and many others.

Following the transition to face-to-face education (since 7 March 2022), the Department of Translation Studies FA CPU Nitra will provide access to education also to students who are unable to participate in face-to-face classes due to objective reasons caused by the military conflict in Ukraine.

The Department of Translation Studies FA CPU in Nitra is opening a call for volunteers to help people arriving from Ukraine.

If you are able to help with translations and interpreting for people arriving from Ukraine, or you wish to help families that have arrived directly to Nitra and surrounding areas communicate, please register via the short questionnaire below. The help is being coordinated by the team at the Department of Translation Studies FA CPU in Nitra in collaboration with the non-profit organizations Pokoj a dobro - pomoc nudznym - Peace and Good and OZ Mareena.
